”It has been 5 months since the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, waged an ethnic genocide on the people of Tigray. Since November, there has been countless attempts by the Ethiopian government to systematically ethnically cleanse the Tigrayan people. Weaponized Rape and sexual violence has affected hundreds of women with little to no access to healthcare. Over half the health facilities are nonfunctional due to looting, destroying, and being occupied by armed forces. Families are being displaced, with over 60,000 refugees fleeing to Sudan out of fear and survival. Communication blackouts have restricted access to diaspora families as well as journalists from finding the truth and sharing info to the rest of the world. Voices are actively being silenced by the government and it’s up to us to do what we can to stop this before Abiy Ahmed succeeds in eradicating an entire 7 million person population.”
